    Ultraviolet light therapy unit is used for treatment of common skin problems like leukoderma and psoriasis. The light can be taken on any week day between 8.30 am and 3.30 pm and is of two types: PUVA Therapy & UVB Therapy.

PUVA Therapy:
PUVA (Psoralen with UltraViolet A) therapy involves exposure to ultraviolet A light after ingesting psoralen tablets. The department is equipped with several PUVA units (Full body, hand & foot or single panels) that cater to all types of patients. A nominal charge of Rs. 10/- per session partly covers the maintenance of the chamber.

UVB Therapy:
The new Full Body UVB Phototherapy Chamber delivers Narrow Band UVB light and is the only one of its kind in the city of Mumbai & India. It has several advantages over PUVA therapy & is virtually free from side effects. Hence, it has been advocated in the treatment of skin diseases in elderly, pregnant and lactating women, and older children. A nominal charge of Rs. 25/- per session partly covers the maintenance of the chamber.


Day Care Centre:

A Resident doctor, a nurse and an intern take care of patients under the supervision of senior staff members. The centre is used for administering 'Pulse Therapy' (High dose dexamethasone and cyclophosphamide pulse therapy) intravenously for disabling skin diseases like pemphigus or systemic sclerosis. The patient can go home after an hour of the injection.
