Unique Facilities: Specialised Nephrology Services
Apart from haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis various other specialised procedures are undertaken at our department. These include:
Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy:
This is used for patients who are seriously ill patients with renal failure who cannot tolerate regular haemodialysis. These patients have septic shock, postoperative catabolic states, intractable cardiac failure or encephalopathies.
In this category our department provides following facilities:
Continuous hemofiltration
Continuous hemodialysis
Continuous ultrafiration
Continuous hemodifiltration
Plasmapheresis:
This procedure is undertaken for patients of rapidly progressive renal diseases, collagen disorders like lupus erythematosus and vasculitis and certain non-renal conditions like Guillian Barre Syndrome or Pemphigus.
Haemoperfusion:
This is done for the treatment of various poisonings and accidental drug overdosages.
These procedures serve as new armaments in the hands of nephrologists and intensivists today and mainly benefits the patients suffering from acute renal failure with poor general conditions due to life-threatening diseases like severe sepsis, intractable cardiac failure etc. These are being practiced in very few hospitals in the city and India. Our hospital is one of the few institutions possessing the necessary expertise, trained staff and experience.
All the above procedures are carried out at lowest cost in the city under the supervision of experienced medical and technical staff.
