Color Doppler:

Colour Doppler: Checking for blocked femorals?

Nair Hospital, Department of Radiology was the first amongst all the Municipal hospitals to have Color Doppler equipment.

Color Doppler is a very simple non-invasive investigation carried out for diseases of Leg Veins, Peripheral arteries, Carotid arteries, etc. Patients who desire to get this investigation done are requested to see doctors in Radiology department situated on Ground Floor of the Hospital Building between 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. The charges for Color Doppler examination are Rs. 500.


Whole Body CT Scan:

Whole body CT Scan services are available round the clock. Patients from other Municipal or public hospitals as well as private hospitals and clinics can avail the CT Scan facility.

Whole Body CT Scan Machine: Another unique facility at Nair

Such patients who have been advised to have their CT Scan done should come directly to CT Scan building (behind OPD building) and take appointment for CT Scan examination. Patient will be instructed by the doctors to come with due preparation at a mutually convenient time for the examination.

The charges for this examination are Rs. 1200/- for Municipal patients and Rs. 2500/- for private patients per region of body. More details about this facility can be obtained by meeting the doctors in CT Scan section or contacting them by phone (3086626).


Mammography:

Mammography examination is a specialized and sophisticated type of examination of Breast. This examination is carried out to detect very early cancerous growth in the breast. The equipment that we have has a computerized Stereotatic Biopsy attachment, which automatically and very accurately takes a sample of tissue for cytological examination. We also have the facility for needle localization.

Though this is a screening test carried out on all women abroad, in India we can certainly do this examination as a screening test in high-risk patients. The high-risk patients are those who have small palpable lump/s in breast or the patients who are above 35 years and have a blood relative who has or had breast cancer. The procedure of Mammography is a simple procedure and at Nair Hospital, we have standard protocol where patients who have positive Mammography findings are subjected to Sonomammography and Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy. The entire package costs only Rs. 300.
