Department of Physiotherapy (P.T.)

Department & School of Physiotherapy : Gr. Floor, OT/PT/Psychiatry Bldg.


History:

Professor M.L. Chainani started the Physiotherapy Department in a small room in 1958. As time passed, it was shifted to many places till it's present location. At present, it is fully equipped & has attached School of Physiotherapy with post-graduate center.

    Outpatient Department is working on all six days of the week from 8:30a.m. to 3:30 p.m., except on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The physiotheraoy service is also rendered to indoor patients.


Special Care Facilities:

All the intensive care units like M.A.C.U., I.P.C.U., N.I.C.U., Trauma, post-operative recovery ward, etc. get special attention from our staff whose role in the recovery of these patients is vital.     A patient receiving ICT (Interferential Current Therapy) for pain in hand

Paediatric care as for high-risk babies is of special interest with early intervention and use of special techniques like Vojta, Bobath, etc for the treatment of children with cerebral palsy.

Cardiac rehabilitation for myocardial infarction as well as in post-cardiac surgery is an area of special care to us.

Electrophysiological studies (include EMG & Nerve conduction) are also done with prior appointment. Patient is charged for electrophysiological studies.
