Intensive Care Unit:

The department has newly constructed a 6-bedded neonatal and paediatric intensive care unit with state of the art of instruments, for operated neonates and seriously ill paediatric patients. The unit is well equipped with monitors, warmers, neonatal ventilator and phototherapy units. It has round the clock availability of residents.


Endoscopes:

The department is equipped with all kind of scopes ranging from:

    		•  Paediatric Fiberoptic Gastro Duodenoscope

    		•  Paediatric Cystoscope & resectoscope including neonatal size
  •  
    		•  Paediatric Bronchoscope with facilities to remove Foreign Bodies
  •  
    		•  Paediatric rigid Oesophagoscope
  •  
    		•  Paediatric Sigmoidoscope
  •  
    		•  Paediatric Peritoneoscope


    Pediatric Laparoscopy:

    The department has been performing pediatric laparoscopy since 2001 and has now completed more than 740 cases. We have conducted 3 international Pediatric Laparoscopic Conferences and workshops.

    All kinds of basic and advanced laparoscopic procedures are offered to patients, including laparoscopic appendicectomies, hernia repairs, thoracoscopies for empyema and lung biopsies etc.

    The department has released 2 books on laparoscopic training one of which comes with a demonstration CD.


    Training of Observers (National or International):

    The department serves as a center for training national and international observers. This year a candidate from Canada has already been trained for three weeks.
